💘Display Idea for Promoting Romance Books💘
I would propose doing something similar to what this person did.

I love the idea of the library giving out valentine’s day cards. Some of these are really funny. I would include a piece of candy so it’s like the valentines you get in elementary school. And on the back of or inside the valentine would be a book recommendation. I think it would be fun to do both physical books and e-books that are available through libby/hoopla. We always do displays of physical books but don’t often remember to advertise the eBooks our patrons have access to. Maybe part of the display could be called e-valentines for those who want a “virtual” date and the other part could be called old fashioned valentines for those who prefer a face-to-”book” date. The titles could using some workshoping, but I think it would be a fun display to put together and I think our patrons would get a kick out of it.
Hi Tasha -
ReplyDeleteThis is such a neat idea! I love the idea of sharing Valentine cards and making them nostalgic with including candy (although you may have to be careful to disclose if any of the candy includes nuts or was processed around them to help with allergies). I also like the e-valentines. Maybe those could be included on the library website for patrons to peruse?
Hi Sydney,
DeleteI had thought about incorporating something on the website too. It would be fun if you could click on a card and get an eBook recommendation.
Hi Tasha! This is such a cute display idea. I love the idea of highlighting the ebook collection as well - my library also does not discuss/advertise the ebooks in our collection often, even though it's an important part of the services we offer! Maybe I just like making displays a little too much, but I think it would be fun to come up with these cards with my co-workers using the books in our collection.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of having literary valentines that patrons can grab and I love the idea of tying in ebooks - too often that gets overlooked! Full points!
